8 Things Tag-Tagged by Deena

Here are the rules:

1) Post rules on your blog

2) Answer the six '8' items

3) Let each person know by leaving them a comment.

8 Favorite TV Shows:

1. Anderson Cooper 360

2. The Situation Room

3. State of the Union w/ John King

4. Cambell Brown: No Bull, No Bias

5. American Idol

6. So You Think You Can Dance

7. The Biggest Loser

8. Kitchen Nightmares

Is it telling that the 8 shows I like are either CNN news programs (that would be numbers 1-4 for those of you who are not political junkies) or reality TV shows? These are literally the only shows I watch. I do not like sitcoms or dramatic series. 24 is OK, but I can only get through about 2 episodes before I am completely annoyed with 1 man saving the country from collapse in one day....again.

8 things I did yesterday:

1. Watched American Idol in bed with my girls! Every saturday morning, the girls climb in bed with me and we watch American Idol (I tivo it because I am always busy on Wednesday nights). Sunday mornings they climb in bed and the girls, Adam and I watch Biggest Loser together. Yes I know, we are nerds!

2. Cleaned my house from top to bottom. I started cleaning at 9am and finally finished at 6:30pm!

3. Made homeade pizza for dinner. This week I made Pepperoni, Spicy Sausage and Carmelized Onions with a Garlic Pizza crust. MMMM MMMMM.

4. Made my weekly meal calendar

5. Went to the grocery store

6. Played Phase 10 with Adam (Yes my life is soooo exciting.)

7. Talked life with Jody

8. Watched Criminal Minds with Adam (he watched, I slept!)

8 Things I am looking forward to:

1. WARM WEATHER! I am over it being winter! Bring on the heat!!

2. My sister coming to visit next month! Rae and my beautiful niece Jadyn are coming and I could not be more excited!!

3. My best friends wedding. Its not until next year but I am really excited for it. She is marrying the sweetest (and most HANDSOME!!!) guy named Alex. She couldnt be more excited and I am the matron of honor which means I have more parties to plan! Yeah!

4. Kelsey's dance competition this weekend. She has been working so hard and I hope they do well!!

5. Going to California!!

6.Visiting my parents in St. George. I haven't seen them in over a month and we really miss them!

7. My friend's wedding in New Jersey in May.

8. WARM WEATHER! Did I already say that??

8 Favorite Restaurants:

1. Gourmet Italian Restaurant, Absecon, NJ-This is by far one of my favorite places to be. I love this restaurant, every time I am in NJ I go there at least 3 times. The food is great and the atmosphere is wonderful. I have such great memories from this restaurant: throwing my Dad's surprise party here, my sister's wedding rehearsal dinner, and meeting countless old friends for dinner here to catch up. When I eat at this restaurant it reminds me of everything I love about Southern New Jersey. So if you are ever in the area you must go!!

2. The Continental- Atlantic City, NJ and Philadelphia, PA- The food here will send your taste buds somewhere they have only dreamed about. Such delightful entrees as Lobster Mashed Potatoes, Pad Thai, Lobster Macaroni and Cheese, Crispy Calamari Salad.....Ugh my mouth is watering just thinking about this place!!!

3. Tavern on the Green, New York City, NY- Amazing food, great location and very hard to get into. We had to make our reservations 3 months in advance. Such a fun experience.

4. Tex Wasabi- Santa Rosa, CA- OMG if you love Sushi and Texas BBQ you have just found your DREAM restaurant!!!!! AMAZING fresh scrumptious sushi and some of the best buffalo wings I have EVER tasted! The last time we were in California we ate their 3 times during a 10 day trip. I dream of this place ever so often....

5. The Blind Dog- Park City, UT- The atmosphere at this place is so "chill". The food is wonderful and they have a great sushi bar as well. BE AWARE- they do NOT have a kids menu and the cheapest entree is $18.00 fish and chips, which my kids love. There Kobe Burger is MMM MMM MMMM.....

6. Cafe TRIO- Cottonwood, UT- Great food and great service. Everything I have ordered from this restaurant has been amazing! And once again the atmosphere is awesome.

7. Texas Roadhouse- Now this is major for me to pick this restaurant because I really hate chains. Having said that, the ribs here melt in your mouth and the rolls with the cinamon butter make me want to cry out for joy! Dont even get me started on the loaded sweet potato with marshmellows, butter and caramel......

8. La Casita- Springville, UT- Two words- Carnitas Dinner. OOOOH Baby. So good!!

8 Things on my wish list:

1. I will stick with Deena's answer here and say: The economy to get better.

2. To complete my marathon in October.

3. To have enough time to make a calendaring cookbook.

4. True Bipartisanship in Washington. To truely get things done in a bipartisan way and not just talk about it.

5. To go to Hawaii sooner rather than later.

6. Lose 4 more pounds!

7. I wish Maya would stop growing up so quickly! Its hard to watch your baby turn into a big girl!

8. A winning lottery ticket!

8 people I tag:

1. Tiffany

2. Laurie G.

3. Ellery Mitchell (you need an update!!)

4. Kaytee

5. Dannielle

6. Alita

7. Brandy

8. Cori

25 Random Things about ME!

Tagged by Carrie Adams on Facebook. Thanks Carrie, this should be interesting...

25. I HATE RODENTS!!! Hamsters, Guinea Pigs, Mice, Rats anything with a tail and fur is GROSS! Ugh just thinking about them gives me the willies...

24. I cook a new recipe at least 5 days a week. I love trying new things and I rarely make the same thing more than twice a year. This morning we entered the DELICIOUS world of Breakfast Pizza. I make homeade pizza for dinner every Friday (a new kind every Friday of course), but this morning I thought I would show the pizza dough a little breakfast luvin and throw some eggs, bacon, onions and pepperoni on top...... MMMM. It was scrumptious!

23. I sleep on the right side of the bed, use the rightside master bathroom sink, and have the rightside wall of the master closet.

22. I am a calendar nut. I have to schedule everything on my calendar in my purse and my calendar on my cell phone. I have so much going on everything has to be written down.

21. I am a listmaker. I make lists of everything.

20. I love summer.

19. I hate snow, winter and anything cold. Including ice cream.

18. I will only eat ice cream if there is a warm brownie underneath it.

17. I miss New Jersey every day.

16. Napa/Sonoma, California is one of my favorite places to be.

15. When Maya wakes me up in the middle of the night, I whisper to her to go wake up her Daddy. And she does!!!

14. I am NOT a morning person.

13. I love to read.

12. I love trying new restaurants. Mom and Pop, little cafe's and locally owned restaurants are my favorite. I do not care for chain restaurants.

11. My sister Rae and I have always been "like twins", the similarites between us are amazing. Examples:
-My maiden name initials are TRP and hers are RTP (Tai Rainel Pherribo and Rae Tonielle Pherribo)
-Our married intials are TRC and RTC (Christensen-me, Clinkscale-Rae)
-We both married men 10 years older than us who were divorced with two children, one boy and one girl
-Her house number is 605 and mine is 603
-We both have only had girl children
-Our children have all been born in December (Maya is the 5th, Jadyn (Rae's baby) is the 15th and Kelsey is the 28th)
-We both went into preterm labor with all of our kids
You get the idea right?

10. I love the beach.

9. I love football and especially Fantasy Football.

8. I am a complete politcal junkie. CNN is on the TV almost all of the time.

7. I love planning events. Whether its a birthday party, dinner party, baby shower, bachelorette party...whatever the occasion I love to plan the party. The details are what make any event special and I love spending hours planning menus, games and anything else to make it unique and fun.

6. My favorite name for a boy is Draper. Adam HATES that name so dont look for any Draper Christensen's from us.

5. I love to color pictures with my girls.

4. I hate sticky, smudgy or dirty countertops. Anything on the countertop drives me insane.

3. Every Saturday I calendar all my meals for the next 7 days. This way my kids know exactly what we are eating everyday so they never ask me the dreaded "whats for dinner question". Which leads me to...

2. I hate the question "Whats for dinner?" It drives me INSANE when my kids ask me that. I think, why are you asking? You cant change what I'm making, you dont have to clean up before or after its made and you dont have to buy the food. All you have to do is sit back and enjoy so why do you care? Can you tell that question really bugs me?

1. People I talk to everyday: Rae, Mia, and Kris. If I dont talk to them at least once a day, something is definitely wrong :-)

I tag Deena, Julie Rivers, and Kaytee! Have Fun!!

Mystery Trip to St. George

Adam and I decided since it was going to be 60 degrees this weekend in St. George, we should probably go visit my parents!! We also decided it might be fun not to tell Kelsey and Maya where we were going and see if they could figure it out. So we piled in the car Friday afternoon and hit the road. The only thing we told the girls was that we were running "errands". We put on a movie and started driving. By Spanish Fork (a town 60 miles from our house) Kelsey said "it looks like we are going to St. George". All I said to that comment was "really?" and Kels said "yup!" and went back to watching her movie. Then about an hour later Maya said "where are we going Momma?" and we said to run errands. This went on for another hour, and then Kels fell asleep. Finally we arrived in St. George and as soon as we turned down my parents street Maya said "we are at Mom Moms house!!!!!". We woke up Kels and boy was she excited!!! We all had a GREAT visit and the girls thanked us about a 100 times for taking them on a "surprise trip". Thanks to Mom and Dad for the awesome weekend. And a VERY SPECIAL thank you to Jeremy and Ranae who watched Zac this weekend so he could go to scout camp and our neighbors Laurie and Ben who watched Pepsi for us!!

The Insightful Game of Uno Attack...

As many of you know, my Christmas vacation has been plagued with sick children. Kelsey had the flu the first half of Christmas break and Maya had it the second half. Luckily there was a 3 day window during Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and the day after that allowed us to have fun in Richfield!! Other than those handful of days, we were home SICK!!! Normally our days are filled with school, work, activities and other commitments. We are a busy family and seem to be going nonstop. So one would assume that 2 weeks inside with sick kids would make me go crazy...however just the opposite occurred. Today, while playing UNO Attack with my family, I was struck with a sad feeling. I realized Christmas break was over tomorrow. Monday starts school, work, dance, scouts and all the other things that crowd our week. Tomorrow life returns to normal. I have thoroughly enjoyed my husband and children's company over the past 2 weeks. We have played games, watched movies, colored endless pictures and played with countless barbies. It has been 2 weeks of uninterrupted family time and I could not have asked for a better Christmas gift. This holiday season I was blessed with the gift of family and I am so grateful for them!!!
