Dance Attack!

Well, we just returned from 4 days in Park City, at Dance Attack, which is a dance camp that Kelsey attended. The camp was Mon-Wed, from 9am to 5pm. The girls attended various classes, taught by amazingly talented and accredited choerographers and dancers. It was such a wonderful experience for Kelsey! They had so many fun classes for the girls, from hip-hop, to jazz, to water ballet! She learned so much and had SO much fun! The teachers were wonderful with our little girls. I was proud that she was able to dance from 9-5 without complaining! She is such a trooper! We had a great time rooming with her friends Kwincee, Madison, Brynlee and their moms. All of the girls did such a great job and I am so very proud of each and everyone of them. Thanks to Trista, Kathy and Tiffany who made Dance Attack so much fun for me!!! And a special thanks to Adam, who cared for Maya at home so Kels and I could go to Dance Attack by ourselves!!

Angela's Visit

I have lived in Utah for 9 years this August, and all 9 years my best friend Angela has been saying she is going to come and visit me. Well this weekend that promise was fulfilled! She finally made the trip from New Jersey to Utah! Angela and I have been best friends since the 7th grade. She is my closest friend and I love her dearly. We have had such great times together over the years and this weekend was no exception. We went to Park City, Temple Square and ate all over Salt Lake. She loved Utah and is already planning her next visit! It was so good to visit with her, have girl talk and just be silly. I love you Ange and cant wait to see you in October!!!!

Enjoying this Summer!

I have been thoroughly enjoying this summer. As many of you know, I HATE the snow and the cold. Summer always makes me so happy, the warm of the sun is so good for my mental state! This summer the girls and I have been spending quite a bit of time at various pools. Kelsey and Maya are in HEAVEN, they love swimming with their friends. Its so great to just lay out and enjoy the wonderfully warm days while they last. So to all of my friends that I have been enjoying many a warm afternoon at the pool with I say THANK YOU for the fun days!

4th of July in Richfield!

Every year we go to Richfield to spend the 4th of July with my in-laws. Adam has 7 brothers and sisters and this year 6 of them, with their families were able to come to Richfield as well!!! It was so much fun! The kids had a great time playing with their cousins, going to the parade and carnival, and having water gun fights! I know it is so much work for my mother in law to prepare for all of us to come down, she had 34 people to feed and entertain! She is such an amazing woman. She raised 8 wonderful, talented, kind and smart children. I am so fortunate that I have such an incredible "in-law" family. They are so much fun to be with! Happy 4th everyone!!

Baking with Big Sister

Yesterday evening Tylre asked Kelsey and Maya if they wanted to make Peanut Butter Bars with her. Of course they both said YES and proceeded to have the time of their lives baking with Ty. Tylre is so patient and loving with the girls and they absolutely ADORE her. Maya's favorite part of baking was licking the spoon at the end. She had chocolate EVERYWHERE! Tylre heads back to California next week and we are all going to miss her so much. She is such a beautiful, smart and kind young woman. I am so proud of her and I love that we are so close. We love you Ty and we will MISS YOU!!!

My Freebie

When I was pregnant with Kelsey, I read a book about toddlers and in it there was a section talking about your Freebie from God. The concept basically was that Heavenly Father will allow you one super scary experience to mess up in, and he will see that your child is safe during that said experience. For instance, you forget to buckle your infant in the carseat carrier, plop it into the base and drive to the store. Upon arriving, you notice you have not fastened your precious baby into the carseat and are immediately filled with anxiety and stress! What if you had wrecked or taken a turn to sharply? Your precious baby could have flown right out of that carseat and broken multiple bones or worse! Not to worry though, that was your freebie. You thoroughly screwed up, but the Lord watched over your precious baby and all is fine. Well today was my Freebie. I was at the pool with the kids and some girlfriends having a great time. Maya was doing her usual, which is sitting directly by my side. Some time passed and I noticed that she was not sitting next to me anymore. After checking with Tylre, Zac, Kelsey and the group we were with, no one had seen her get up and walk away. I was in full blown panic mode. Here we are at a POOL and my toddler is missing. She cant swim, she doesnt have floaties on and there are 100 people there, all of which at that moment are looking like kidnappers to me. We all got up and looked everywhere for her, for what seemed like an eternity. I dont think I have ever prayed so hard in my life. Praying for her safety and her return to us. I felt like vomiting and crying all at the same time. Finally I heard someone yell, "Tai she is over here" and I felt a rush of relief. I ran over and grabbed her and held on for dear life. I was so angry at myself for taking my precious babies life for granted. She wandered off and anything could have happened to her, but thankfully she was safe and sound, hanging out by a fence. Far to often I get too relaxed, and always assume that my kids are fine. But that 3 minutes where I couldnt find Maya has forever changed me. I dont know if I bought into the "Freebie" concept before today, but I am going to be grateful I got one and my little one is safe! From now on I will be much more attentive at the pool!
