Happy Birthday Maya!!

Well the baby of our family turned 3 on Friday! I cant believe she is already 3, it feels like just yesterday I was holding her in my arms at the hospital. Maya has been the sweetest child from the second she was born. She is everyone's "favorite" and brings such joy to our family. We promised Maya she could get her ears pierced for her 3rd birthday. She was so brave! She only cried a little bit! She loves to show off her new "big girl ears" to anyone who will look!

Saturday Maya had her very first birthday party! It was short and sweet, just like Maya! She had a great time and got some really fun gifts!! Happy Birthday Maya! We love you!!!!

Thanksgiving Holiday

Well once again life has been so crazy!!! Kris, Tylre and Erin came to town last Saturday for a Pre-Thanksgiving visit. It was also Tylre's birthday, can you believe she turned 17! Where does the time go??? When I first started dating Adam, Tylre was 7! Unfortunately, Kelsey got very ill while they were here, so she was not able to play with Erin as much as she would have liked. Next time they visit, hopefully we will all be healthier! It was still great to spend time with them and we miss them already!!

This year Thanksgiving was at my house (hooray!) so my parents and Lea came up for dinner. The turkey was AWESOME!!! I brined it in salt, brown sugar, oranges, lemons, rosemary and thyme. It was soooo moist and tender....yummy yummy. The day after Thanksgiving my mom and I hit the stores for some Black Friday retail therapy. We didnt really get any awesome deals, but that didnt stop us from shopping! We had a great afternoon and got the girls Christmas shopping almost completed. When we came home, Adam and my dad had gotten out all of the Christmas decorations and were setting up our tree. We spent the rest of the day setting up Christmas, while my mom spent the time helping the girls decorate "their trees". My mom is the most patient and loving Grandmother. She spent all night making these paper decorations with the girls. I think they turned out pretty cute!!

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. It gives me the opportunity to reflect on what I am truely thankful for. I have so much to be grateful for in my life. I have the most wonderful parents, I love them more than words. Everytime I am with them, I am reminded of what a wonderful example of love and affection they are. They are phenominal grandparents and my girls just ADORE them. I have such a great husband. Somehow, I lucked into finding Mr. Right at age 18. How often does that happen? Even though I am crabby in the morning, pessimistic, and not very patient, he still loves me to pieces. I think true love is knowing another persons downfalls and still wanting to wake up with them the next morning. He helps me up when I have fallen down (literally) and always knows how to put a smile on my face. I love him. I have the most gorgeous, smart and kind children (but I am not biased at all!). They are my greatest joy and fill my heart with warmth and laughter. They are each uniquely wonderful and I love them all desperately. I am fortunate enough to have several people in my life who are true friends. Real friends who love me through and through and I love them. They listen to me cry, vent, and laugh. Some who have been with me from grade school and others shorter amounts of time. Either way my friends are different, amazing, funny and strong woman who I lean on through good times and bad. I love you ladies!! Finally, anyone who knows me knows I am grateful for my two sisters Rae and Lea. My hearts. I love being part of our trio. I cant even imagine my life without them. We are so much more than sisters, more like soulmates. My love for them is without measure. I am grateful to have grown up in a home where my parents emphasized the importance of family. So basically to wrap it all up, I am grateful for, love, life and health. Happy Thanksgiving. I hope yours was as memorable and filled with love as mine!!

Trip to New Jersey for Rae's Baby Shower!!!

Okay so I know it has been a LONG time since I have updated my blog, but life has been CRAZY! Between our trip to St. George, Halloween and then flying to New Jersey to throw my sister Rae a baby shower, I have barely had time to breathe!! My trip to New Jersey was short but oh so sweet. I dont realize how desperately I miss Jersey until I am there. I dont think I will ever think of Utah as "home". I know home is where your heart and family are, and techniqually both of those things are in Utah. I firmly believe once a Jersey girl, ALWAYS a Jersey girl! Anyway, Rae's Baby Shower came together beautifully. I was very stressed planning and coordinating everything from so far away, but as usual it all worked out in the end. My sister has to be one of the tiniest pregnant woman I have ever seen! She is due next month and she only has a tiny bump to show off! She is so lucky, I gained 50 pounds with Kelsey and Maya!! It was wonderful to visit with my family and friends, I rarely get a chance to be with them. Thank you to Rae and her wonderful husband Darren for a great vacation! See you two after the baby is born!!! And a special THANK YOU to Adam, who took care of the kids at home so I could have a mini vacation alone!

Family Halloween Party

This year my sister in law Abbey had a Family Halloween Party for the Christensen family. We had so much fun! In addition to the dinner and games, Abbey had each of the kids perform there best "trick". This was by far the FUNNIEST portion of the night! We had a great time and cant wait until Halloween to get all dressed up again!!! Thanks Abbey!!! Oh and if you can't tell from the pictures, Adam was "Joe the Plumber", I was a Southern Bell, and Kelsey and Maya were both Princess Aurora. My Southern Bell costume was made for me by my mom as my Junion Year in High School costume! I still cant believe she made it and I REALLY cant believe it still fit!!!!!

This is my personal favorite picture. Its my niece LuLu in her dad's mullet wig. Too Funny!

Field Trip Fun!

Today was Kelsey's first school field trip! All the kindergarteners went to Cornbellys. It was so fun! We took a school bus to Cornbelly's and it was Kelsey's first time riding a bus. She was so excited that the school bus didnt have seatbelts, she thought it was cool to be able to stand up while the bus was moving!

As Room Mom, I was a parent helper for todays field trip. Here are my "kiddos" for the day. I forgot how crazy 5 year old boys were, they kept running away!!

Kelsey's friend Abby was in our group. They had a great time doing all of the activities together.
The pumpkin patch was everyones favorite part. The kids were very particular in selecting there pumpkins!!! After 20 minutes everyone finally found the perfect pumpkin for them.

It was great to be able to go with Kelsey on her first fieldtrip. We had such an awesome time together! A special thanks to Kelsey's kindergarten teacher Ms. Gurney. She is such an incredible teacher, we are so lucky to have her this year. Kelsey loves her so much!!

Go Heidi!!

This weekend Adam and I went to St. George to see his sister Heidi run the St. George Marathon. She did such a great job!!! She finished the race smiling and still happy!! We are all so proud of her! She is such an inspiration, she has 4 children under the age of 4, two of which are 18 month old twin boys!!!! She has truely made me believe that you can do anything you put your mind to. So it is with an inspired spirit that I announce that next year I too will run the St. George Marathon!!! Yes pick your jaw up off the ground, I am going to do it! This will be my goal for the next year and I am eager to begin my training! GREAT JOB HEIDI! We love you!
