Kite Festival

While we were in St. George there was a Kite Festival in the community my dad lives in. Dad and I took the girls there in his golf cart. Dad has been teaching Kelsey how to drive his cart and she was so excited to show me her new skills. She "drove" us all the way to the festival and did a wonderful job! Hide your car keys people! She thinks she knows how to drive now! My friend Tiffany and her family were also at the Kite Festival so Kelsey was able to hang out with her friend Kwincee.

The girls favorite part of the day was when they each got to pick out their own kite and fly it. It was such a beautiful day! Thanks Dad for the great week!!! We had so much fun!!

Spring Break in St. George

This week we went to St. George to escape the cold weather, get some much needed relaxation, and visit my dad. It was BEAUTIFUL!!! Warm and sunny everyday we were there! I am so sick of cold weather so it was a very welcome change! The girls and I had a wonderful time doing crafts, playing Princess Tea Party, shopping and lounging. Adam was unfortunately too busy with work to join us, but I enjoyed spending alone time with the girls. Its was so nice not to have a schedule! One of the nights we were there we met my friend Tiffany and her family for dinner. We went to Texas Roadhouse which is one of Kelsey's favorite restaurants. She loves the fact that you can throw the peanut shells on the floor. Thanks Tiff and Patty for a fun dinner!

I LOVE the fact that my parents live in St. George now. It is so great to be able to see them on a regular basis. Best of all, I love that I can "run away" to warmer weather and stay with my family!

Going for a Sunday Drive

On Sunday, it was one of those amazing gorgeous days. Not a cloud in the sky, no breeze and 78 degrees. BEAUTIFUL! Later in the afternoon everyone in my culdesac was outside with their kids. Kelsey and her friends broke out there "cars" and went driving up and down our street. Kelsey has a VW Bug and LOVES it! The kids played and all the mom's sat in my neighbors driveway and gabbed. It was such a great afternoon. Fast forward two days to today and its snowing and 34 degrees!! Thank goodness I am leaving for St. George tomorrow!!!! I cant wait for more sunny warm afternoons! Isnt it amazing what a great mood you are in when its sunny and warm outside? Winter is always really rough for me. I hate snow and I hate the cold! This year it seems like winter will never end! Its April 15th and snowing! I know since we live in a dry climate that is prone to drought I should be grateful we are getting so much moisture. But at some point enough is enough! Please sunny days come back!!!

Jessica and Meadow's Visit

My best friend Jessica and her daughter Meadow came to visit us from New Jersey! Jess and I have been best friends since the 3rd grade! She is like a sister to me and I love her dearly. We have traveled all over together and had so many fun times. She has only been to Utah once before when Kelsey was 3 weeks old. The last time we vacationed with Jess and Meadow we went to Hawaii. Needless to say, the weather here is quite different from Maui!! This is a picture of us at one of the luaus we went to during that trip. Look how tiny Kelsey and Meadow are!!
Since Meadow got off the plane she has been begging to play in the "snowy mountains". Well when we woke up this morning it was snowing outside! Meadow was thrilled, she couldnt wait to put on the snow gear she had brought all the way from Jersey. We have had such a fun visit and I am so sad they are leaving on Wednesday. Its hard to live so far away from the people you love, but it makes their visits even more special! We love you Jess and Meadow and cant wait to see you in New Jersey!!!

In the Tiki Room

Saturday Kelsey and her duo partner Jordan had another chance to compete their dance routine called Tiki Room. They did such a great job! They recieved a High Gold rating and a plaque. Congrats ladies! We are so proud of you!!

Such a Big Girl!

Well my very first baby, Kelsey, has lost her very first baby tooth today! She is so proud and feels like such a big girl. So while she is upstairs, with her tooth under her pillow dreaming of the tooth fairy, I sit here and think about how fast my sweet Kelsey is growing up. Somedays I look at her and can't believe how big she is! It seems like just yesterday she was a baby. At night I still go in her room and watch her sleep for a little while. Why is it that no matter how many tears, fits and fights you have during the day, when you watch your child sleep at night, they look absolutely angelic? Lately it seems that everyday is filled with school, wrestling, dance, parties and millions of other commitments. Days turn to weeks, which turn into months and before you know it your curly haired toddler is a big time 5 year old who is going to kindergarten. I had Kelsey when I was 21, so in a way I feel like we have grown up together. She has taught me so much about enjoying life. I love the way she gets excited over little things, like it being a sunny day or making pancakes in the morning. I love spending time with her, I truely enjoy her company. So today, instead of doing the 800 things on my to-do list, I spent all day hanging out with my kids. Today I enjoyed all the little things life has to offer, including making pancakes this morning :-) Kelsey I love you so much! It is an honor and a blessing to be your mother and I am grateful for you everyday!

Sidebar- This what Kelsey's hair looked like the day after her competition! She slept in it and played all day and her curls still held! She has the most amazing hair!

Good Times!

Yesterday Kelsey had a competition in Salt Lake perfoming her duo routine to a song called "Tiki Room". It was the first time her and her partner Jordan had ever performed it and they did it with no help from their teacher. I was so proud! They did a great job! I love watching Kelsey perform. I had to put her hair in tight spiral curls so she slept in curlers overnight. Poor thing. It took me 90 minutes to put all the curlers in her hair! She was such a trooper and didnt complain at all. When I took the curlers out the next day she looked like Shirley Temple!! She had a head full of perfect spirals. Kelsey loved it!
Before

After

We carpooled to the competition with my friends Tiffany, Kathy and Trista and their girls who were also competing. After all the girls were finished perfoming, we went to Little America for dinner. The girls were in heaven! They were so excited to be in a "fancy restaurant"! I think they were more excited about the gold tissue boxes and the linen napkins than the food! They were so cute and so happy to be together. It was such a great time. I love spending time with Kelsey. She is so sweet and I love her personality. Her friends are such good girls and they have the most amazing moms. I love being around Tiff, Trista and Kathy. They are such great examples of kind, considerate and loving women. I always find myself learning from them. Thanks for the fun day ladies! And Tiff THANK YOU so much for shuttling us around all day!
